You can debate Drake for hours, his recent albums, his controversies, his place in rap history. One thing, however, is not up for discussion, the numbers. ICEMAN is charting in 31 of 33 countries, his single Janice STFU sits at number two in the United States, and his catalog totals 65 entries in our charts this week. Year after year, project after project, the Canadian remains one of the most stable forces in the global rankings. The machinery is well oiled by now, and it commands respect whatever you think of the music. Every release, regardless of critical reception, settles simultaneously into the charts of every continent, carried by the largest monthly listener base in global rap. Critics debate, fans listen, and the charts keep ruling the same way. What stands out in our data is above all the geography of that dominance. Most American rappers perform in North America and Western Europe, then stop cold. Drake charts as far as Indonesia, Turkey, the Emirates. No other hip-hop artist covers a map like that, and very few artists at all, across any genre. Fifteen years after his debut, he has reached that strange status where he is no longer really an artist creating events, he has become streaming infrastructure, part of the landscape whose every release redraws the charts by default. You are allowed to prefer his older albums, that is practically an international sport played in comment sections worldwide. But as long as 31 countries out of 33 keep listening, the debate stays academic. The throne is not vacating, it is wearing in, and this one is clearly built solid. These 65 entries deserve ranking among the others recorded this week. Olivia Rodrigo leads with 115, Michael Jackson follows with 91, Gracie Abrams with 84. Drake therefore comes fourth — but the top three owe their totals to a major release mid promotional cycle, or in Jackson's case to a four-decade catalog. The most significant point lies elsewhere, in the map. Our data shows most rap releases perform in North America and Western Europe then stop dead, whereas 31 countries out of 33 is the coverage level of the two most saturating pop albums of the week. Holding that breadth from a genre that usually travels badly is, statistically, the most interesting anomaly in this snapshot.
